Ceremonial Waist and Shoulder Sashes

We manufacture and supply a variety of waist and shoulder sashes to armed and uniformed forces throughout the Caribbean. As part of its personal mandate and commitment to armed and uniformed forces, Ceremonial Waist and Shoulder Sashes are among the Cerimonial Accoutrement which Active Gear has been supplying throughout the Caribbean from inception. 


We are a leading Caribbean supplier to the Police Services, The Military, The Fire Services, Correctional Services and Uniformed Youth Groups of many of their Sashes as per their colour and design requirements.

The aforementioned are our primary markets to whom we supply ceremonial waist and shoulder sashes. Although we manufacture and supply sashes in accordance with the individual needs of each member of our primary market throughout the Caribbean, the company’s scope of manufacture is not limited to our primary market.

Active Gear manufacture and supply both One-size-fits-all sash and  Nato Standard Size sash

  • One-size-fits-all sash: are fully adjustable to fit any waistline or height which means keeping stocks of a wide range of sizes is no longer necessary.
  • Nato Standard size sash: Waist sash are size from 32" to 46" in increments of 2".  Shoulder sash are sized according to the following:

XSmall - 50" 133cm
Small - 52" 133cm,
Medium (A)  54" - 143cm,
Medium  56" - 143cm,
Large - 58" - 147 cm,
Extra Large - 60" - 152 cm
Extra Extra Large - 62" 157cm

 Active Gear does not only supply cerimonial accoutrement worn by senior officers of various regiments, including ceremonial waist and shoulder sashes. We also supply speacial sashes including Drum Major Sash.

DRUM MAJOR’S SASH Fully embroidered by hand in gold and silver bullion and coloured silks with Royal Cypher (if appropriate) regimental or unit title, enlarged regimental or unit badge, full battle honours (if appropriate) all upon a superfine cloth ground to regimental or unit facings, edged gold or silver lace, with fringe. Fitted miniature drumsticks with metal mounts, gold or silver plated.

    Waist Sash

    A similar crimson silk net sash is worn around the waist by officers of the Foot Guards in scarlet full dress and officers of line infantry in dark blue "Number 1" dress. The same practice is followed in some Commonwealth armies. 

  2. Shoulder Sashes

    Shoulder Sashes

    Sashes traditionally form part of formal military attire. The modern British Army retains a scarlet sash for wear in certain orders of dress by sergeants and above serving in infantry regiments, over the right shoulder to the left hip. A similar crimson silk net sash is worn around the waist by officers of the Foot Guards in scarlet full dress and officers of line infantry in dark blue "Number 1" dress. The same practice is followed in some Commonwealth armies.

    Shoulder Sash - part of the Ceremonial dress of WOs, Staff Sergeants and Sergeants in Infantry regiments and those Corps with Infantry traditions. Traditionally Crimson for WOs, scarlet for SNCOs, worn over the right shoulder.
