The first flashlight was invented by Conrad Hubert. Because early flashlights used energy-inefficient carbon-filament bulbs, ‘resting’ occurred at short intervals. Consequently, they could be used only for brief flashes, hence the popular name ‘flashlight’. Light-emitting diodes(LED) flashlights has longer battery life than an incandescent one. Additionally, LED flashlights are highly efficient at producing coloured light compared with an incandescent. Coloured LED flashlights are used for signaling, special inspection tasks, forensic examination or to track the blood trail of wounded game animals.  In World War II the standard army flashlight was the TL-122 series with a 90 degrees angle head which was powered by 2 Dry cell batteries. Modern military flashlights have switch buttons and filter buttons and Morse Code button.

Military personnel such as signaler, soldier on operations use mostly LED flashlights. Hunters, Search and Rescue teams, campers and hikers use flashlights to find their way around rough terrain, to search for objects and even to read a map to find their way around. A flashlight may have a red LED intended to preserve dark adaptation of vision. Infrared LEDs can be used for illuminators for night vision system. Tactical lights are sometimes mounted to a handgun or rifle. They allow momentary illumination of a target.

Our angle flashlights have coloured filters of blue, red, green and orange used for differing reasons and comes with an on and off switch. The red filter is for protecting your night vision, green is for reading maps and blue is for identifying blood and liquids.

The military flashlight is similar to the standard flashlight, but emits a red cone of light that is much harder to see and without revealing your position and does not penetrate walls as badly. Some flashlight batteries are rechargeable while others use batteries that are disposable such as AA or AAA batteries.  The choice of battery will determine the size, weight, run time and shape of the flashlight.

The army uses the red light more in the field as it is the colour that makes more colours visible to the eye more so than other colours; it has the least amount of ambient light so the soldier cannot be detected while reading a map by the reflection off it; and it does not travel at a far distance so enemies cannot detect them and find their location. Many flashlights are cylindrical in design however; some designs come in a variety of other shapes. Most of our flashlights clips can be attached to PLCE or belt clip can be mounted on either side of the light. They are reliable and last long on a single charge. Most flashlights are waterproof.
