Active Gear manufacture and supply a range of Headware including Peaked Caps, Berets, Helmets, Military Fatigue Caps and Tactical Caps. We also supply customize items as per customer requirements for many different forces, regiments and ranks. 

 

We are a leading Caribbean supplier to The Police Services, The Military, The Fire Services, Correctional Services, The Industrial Security Community and Uniformed Youth Groups of many headware ranging from ceremonial head dress to field head dress including helmets.

The aforementioned are our primary markets to whom we supply an assortment of headware. Although we manufacture and supply such in accordance with the individual needs of each member of our primary market throughout the Caribbean, the company’s scope of manufacture is not limited to our primary market.

 

If you have a headware requirement, no matter what the industry, then we are happy to quote and produce samples.

 

Headdress is to be worn outside in all orders of dress except in circumstances detailed below but is to be removed on entering a building except in certain circumstances for Church Parades and Services. Headdress may be replaced by appropriate safety headwear in certain circumstances. Particular rules on wearing headdress in vehicles and cultural/religious headwear are contained in Army General Administrative Instruction (Chapter 59). The wearing of Undress headdress by officers with the Full Dress tunic is not authorised. Soldiers may on occasion wear forage caps/SDs with Full Dress.

Church Parades and Services. Male personnel attending a church service are to remove headdress on entering the church. Female personnel may remove their headdress if they so wish but headdress is to be worn by all personnel forming part of a Colour Party. At formal drumhead services headdress outside, headdress is not to be removed. At informal services in the field, headdress may be removed if circumstances dictate.

 

Berets are made from wool and are soft, round and flat in design and typically worn by the military to denote the wearer’s regiment or rank.

Side caps meanwhile, are foldable military caps with straight edges and a parting or crease down the middle. They’re also sometimes referred to as forage caps, garrison caps, flight caps or field service caps.

Peaked caps, often referred to as barracks covers or combination caps, are a formal piece of headwear worn by the military, law enforcement agencies and fire departments. Peaked caps usually feature an embroidered badge at the front denoting the wearer’s unit or regiment.

    On navy caps or coast guard caps, the peak and chinstrap of the service cap are always black. On both navy and army caps, the chinstrap is affixed to the cap via two small buttons, one roughly over each ear; these buttons are miniature versions of the buttons on the service dress tunic, and as such bear an environmental or regimental device.

    The female forage cap is round at the top and has a dip in the middle of the cap, giving the cap a feminine touch. In the Caribbean the female forage cap is worn by  different Defence Forces with various uniforms. The Jamaica Defence Force has a white frame peaked cap for coast guard, a khaki peak cap for parade dress and a black ceremonial, parade (for enlisted rank) and service dress cap (diced band in the respective regiment or units colours).  In Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, a white female navy cap of the coast guard section, air force blue peaked cap for the air section, green for regular force.
