Patches are used in the military and cadet forces as a way of identification. Whether as to identify by way of showing your name, your country’s flag or unit or battalion, Active Gear has it all. They are done to your specification at the highest quality. Patches are generally ironed on, glued on or sewed on to uniform, vest, rucksack, armlet and combat helmet. They can be worn on the upper sleeves of uniform jacket or shirt and the front of uniform jacket.
The Jamaica Defence Force patches are not known as battalion patches but unit flash. All regiments in the Jamaica Defence Force have their own patch where it is used to identify soldiers of the same regiment. IJR/JDF uses the same patch as the First Battalion of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force of navy blue and yellow. 2JR/JDF unit flash colours are maroon and yellow. 3JR/NR unit flash colours are green and yellow. 1ER/JDF wears a horizontal striped black and red unit flash. Support and Service Battalion wears a horizontal striped red and blue unit flash. They around the same width and length as the battalion patches of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force.
